The Mom Craft is a craft blog for parents, teachers, and anyone who enjoys making things by hand.

We share original, step-by-step paper craft tutorials – animals, ocean creatures, flowers, and other fun designs – that you can make yourself and do together with the children in your life.

Our projects use simple, everyday materials like paper, scissors, and glue. Some come together in a few minutes; others take a little more time and a steady hand.

Our Mission

We started The Mom Craft to make crafting easier to follow. A lot of craft instructions online are vague and hard to picture halfway through.

We do the work first – designing and building each craft by hand – and then write it up in plain, step-by-step language, so you know exactly what to do at every stage.

Our Story

The Mom Craft was founded by Ahtsham Younas, a writer and researcher with a long-standing interest in hands-on, creative activities.

Searching for craft ideas online, he kept running into the same problem: tutorials that were cluttered, vague, or clearly never actually made.

He wanted to build the opposite – a simple, reliable place where every craft is genuinely designed, built, and tested before it is published, and where the written steps match the finished result.

That standard is what the mom craft is built on, and it guides everything the small team creates today.

Meet the Team

Ahtsham – Founder

Ahtsham founded the mom craft and guides its direction and editorial standards.

A writer and researcher by background, he oversees what the site publishes and works to keep every tutorial clear, accurate, and genuinely useful.

His focus is on make sure each craft is properly tested and easy to follow before it reaches you.

Zymal – Lead Crafter

Zymal designs and makes the crafts featured on the site, and she is our most active contributor.

An LLB student who also works part-time as a content writer, she crafts in her free time and builds every project by hand before it is published.

That means each tutorial is based on a craft she has actually made, not just sketched out.

Mehrab – Writer

Mehrab writes most of the tutorials on the mom craft.

A software engineering student and writer, she works directly with Zymal, writing up each project only after going through the steps with her.

This keeps the written instructions matched to how the craft actually comes together.

How We Make Our Crafts?

  • Made first, written second. Zymal builds each craft by hand before we publish anything.
  • Written from the real thing. Mehrab writes each tutorial with Zymal, so the steps match the finished craft.
  • Simple supplies. Most projects use paper, scissors, glue, and a few basics you likely already have.
  • Honest about difficulty. Our crafts range from quick and easy to a bit more involved, and we say so – so you can pick what fits your time and skill.

Who The Mom Craft Is For

The Mom Craft is written for adults – parents, grandparents, teachers, homeschoolers, and anyone who plans creative activities for children, as well as hobbyists who simply enjoy crafts.

Many of our projects are great to do together with kids, with a grown-up handling the trickier cutting and shaping.

Because our crafts involve scissors, glue, and small pieces, we recommend that an adult always supervises children and helps with any steps that need extra care.
